Basic Life Insurance

Life insurance can protect your survivors from financial difficulty in the event of your death. Hexcel provides Basic Life Insurance to all employees automatically — no enrollment is required — and at no cost to you. Your coverage is equal to your annual base pay, rounded up to the next $1,000 to a maximum of $50,000.

Supplemental Life Insurance Options

For yourself: You have the option to purchase additional life insurance coverage for yourself via payroll deduction. You can select up to eight times your annual earnings to a combined basic and supplemental maximum of $1.5 million. The cost of this benefit will be increased if you indicate that you are a tobacco user. If your supplemental coverage exceeds $750,000 or you increase by more than one level, Evidence of Insurability (EOI) is required. Reliance will email a DocuSign link to complete your EOI form, which must be submitted within 60 days. Once approved, no further EOI is needed unless you make another multi-level increase.

For your spouse: You have the option to purchase life insurance coverage for your spouse via payroll deduction. You can select coverage in increments of $20,000 to $200,000, but the amount cannot exceed 100% of your combined Basic Life and Supplemental Life insurance coverage (you cannot insure your spouse for more than you insure yourself). Your cost for this benefit will increase if you indicate that your spouse is a tobacco user.

For your children: You have the option to purchase life insurance coverage for each of your dependent children from age 14 days up to 25 years if they are a full-time student.

AD&D Insurance

AD&D insurance can provide assistance if you suffer accidental dismemberment or death resulting from an accident. Hexcel provides basic AD&D insurance to all employees automatically — no enrollment is required — and at no cost to you. Your coverage is equal to your annual base pay, rounded up to the next $1,000 to a maximum of $50,000.

Supplemental AD&D Insurance

You have the option to purchase additional accidental death and dismemberment insurance for yourself in increments of $10,000 to a maximum of $1.5 million. You also have the option to cover yourself, your spouse, and your children through a family plan. If you choose the family plan, you are covered for 100% of the benefit amount elected; your spouse is covered for 50% of the benefit amount elected or 40% of the benefit amount elected if your children also are covered. Your children are covered for 10% of the benefit amount elected, if your spouse is covered, or for 15% if your spouse is not covered.
