Health Insurance & Dependent Coverage

How do I add or remove dependents from my health insurance plan?

If you experience a qualified life event, log in to Workday, and start the process by clicking Benefits > Change Benefits > and then enter your information. During Annual Enrollment, you can add or remove dependents when you go through the enrollment process.

How do I add my newborn to the health insurance?

Having a baby is considered a qualifying life event. You will log in to Workday and click Benefits > Change Benefits > and then enter your information. You must complete this process within 30 days from the day the baby is born. If you do not, you will have to wait until the next Annual Enrollment period to add the child to your health insurance.

What changes can I make to my health insurance during a Qualifying Life Event (QLE)?
  • Add or remove dependents (e.g., due to marriage, divorce, birth, adoption, or a dependent aging out).
  • Change your medical plan option, such as switching from a PPO to a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), or vice versa.
  • Enroll in or drop coverage for medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
  • Adjust contributions to Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), though with some restrictions.
  • Update life insurance elections or other voluntary benefits.
How long does it take to receive my medical ID card?

Medical ID cards take 7 to 10 business days; however, members can still access and print temporary ID cards from the Anthem Sydney App.

What is the process for updating my Health Savings Account (HSA) contribution in Workday?

You will log in to Workday and click Benefits > Change Benefits > Change HSA Contribution.

Qualifying Life Events (QLEs)

What documentation is required to prove a QLE?

The type of documentation depends on the type of QLE. If you recently got married, you’ll need to provide a copy of your marriage certificate. If you had a baby, you’ll need to provide a birth certificate. A divorce, the official divorce decree or legal separation papers.

How long do I have to report a QLE and make changes to my benefits?

You must complete the QLE process within 30 days from the date of the event. You will log in to Workday and click Benefits > Change Benefits > and then enter your information. If you do not, you will have to wait until the next Annual Enrollment period to make changes.

Can I change my benefits if I get married or divorced?

How do I change my 401(k) deferral election?

Log on to netbenefits.com, click on the Contributions tab, and select Change Contributions. You can also call the Fidelity Retirement Benefits Line at 800-835-5098, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, to speak to a representative.

How do I update my beneficiaries for life insurance and retirement plans?

For the 401(k) plan, log on to netbenefits.com and click the Profile link at the top of the home page then select beneficiaries and follow the instructions. If you need assistance, please call the Fidelity Retirement Benefits Line at 800-835-5095, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, to speak to a representative. For life insurance, you can change your beneficiary in Workday.

How do I stop my Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) deductions?

Log on to netbenefits.com to discontinue or change your ESPP contributions during the offering period. Click here for more information on the ESPP.

Leaving the Company

What happens to my benefits if I leave the company?

Your coverage under Hexcel’s group health plans (medical, dental, vision) will end the last day of the month in which you were employed full time.

Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD): These end when your employment ends unless you are actively receiving benefits.

Life and AD&D Insurance: Your life insurance coverage ceases at the end of the month in which you were employed full time, but you may have the option to convert or port your policy within 31 days of losing coverage.
