Convenience feature:

The MetLife Legal Plan provides you with the ability to create wills, living wills and powers of attorneys online in as little as 15 minutes. Answer a few questions about yourself, your family, and your assets to create these documents instantly.

Before enrolling, consider these important points:

• You are enrolled for the entire year and cannot opt out until next Annual Enrollment.
• You should consider enrolling for this benefit when you know you will use it (such as buying or selling a house, developing a will, or estate planning).
• You may select an attorney from MetLife Legal Plan’s nationwide attorney network, or any attorney of their choice.¹
• This coverage is open to your benefits-eligible family members including spouses and children.
• The MetLife Legal Plan includes unlimited access to more than 18,000 network attorneys and are easy for employees to use. You will have no waiting periods, co-pays or hourly limits when using a network attorney.

Services Not Covered

No services, not even a consultation, can be provided through the plan for the following matters:

• Employment-related matters, including company or statutory benefits.
• Matters involving Hexcel, MetLife and affiliates, and Plan attorneys.
• Matters in which there is a conflict of interest between the employee and spouse or dependents, in which case services are excluded for the spouse and dependents.
• Appeals and class actions.
• Farm matters, business or investment matters, matters involving property held for investment or rental, or issues when the Participant is the landlord.
• Patent, trademark and copyright matters.
• Cost or fines.
• Frivolous or unethical matters.
• Matters for which an attorney-client relationship exists prior to the Participant becoming eligible for plan benefits.

Potential Annual Savings

Fees for legal services are based on the average amount of hours it would take using the average hourly rate of $370 based on years of legal intelligence, National Law Firm Economics (2018).

¹ If services are provided by an out-of-network attorney, the participant is responsible for paying the difference between the reimbursement amount and the attorney’s charge for the services.
