Vision

Protect your vision and eye health with comprehensive coverage through Vision Service Plan (VSP).

Routine eye exams are important for detecting vision problems and serious health conditions. In addition to routine eye exams, the vision plan also provides coverage for lenses and frames (or contacts in lieu of lenses and frames).

Keep in mind that if you use an out-of-network provider, you may be required to pay your provider in full at the time of service and request reimbursement from VSP.

Using Your VSP Benefits

You can visit any doctor you choose, but you get the best value from your benefit when you choose a VSP doctor. At your appointment, tell them you have VSP. There’s no ID card needed. If you’d like a physical card, you can print one at vsp.com. There are no claim forms to complete when you see a VSP provider. If you use a non-VSP provider, you’ll typically pay more out-of-pocket. You have six months to submit a claim to VSP for partial reimbursement, less any applicable co-payments.

Additional Savings Opportunities:

  • Glasses & Sunglasses: Extra $20 to spend on featured frame brands. Go to vsp.com/specialoffers for details.
  • Diabetes Care: VSP members can save up to 75% on test strips and other diabetes care supplies. Visit vsp.com/simplevalues to access your savings.
  • Retinal Screening: Covered in full during your WellVision exam at in-network facilities.
  • Laser Vision Correction: Average 15% off the regular price or 5% off the promotional price from contract facilities. After surgery, use your frame allowance (if eligible) for sunglasses from any VSP doctor.
Expanded Network:

You have access to an expanded provider network that includes participating retail chains throughout Walmart Optical, Cohen’s Fashion Optical, Costco, Optyx, Visionworks, Pearle Vision, and My Eye Dr. Plus. Get even more from your benefit when you visit a practice that participates in the Premier Program.
